World AIDS Day

End Inequalities • End AIDS • End Pandemics

World AIDS Day, held annually on 1st December since 1988, is an international day dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection and mourning those who have died of the disease.

This year we are committed to stopping new cases of HIV and enabling people living with HIV to live healthy lives free from HIV stigma and discrimination. Forty years since the first AIDS cases were reported, HIV still threatens the world. In that time HIV/AIDS has claimed the lives of more than 36 million people worldwide and today there are nearly 38 million people living with HIV. There are approximately 3500 people living with HIV in New Zealand.

Rewired 2023
Want support changing your relationship with meth?

Rewired is a non-judgemental programme for people using methamphetamine that want to change their relationship with it.
If you’re a guy (cis or trans) who has sex with other guys and wants support to review, reduce or stop your meth-use, then Rewired is for you.

There will be three Rewired programmes coming up in the next few months. These will be running from August to October in Auckland, Wellington & Christchurch.

Over the eight weeks, we will cover a range of topics like intimacy, relationships and navigating sex, as well as topics specific to using drugs, like safer partying, meth and the brain, relapse prevention, and more.

We work in a harm-reduction model. This means that we meet each person where they are at and support them to shape and reach their individual goals.

Rewired is brought to you by Burnett Foundation Aotearoa and NZ Drug Foundation.
